Moved out of our original HQ,
by City of London Corporation - December 2009
and now temporarily lodging with
Chingford Cricket Club
E4 6DE

For Locals who still don’t know it,
the cricket clubhouse is behind Forest Side's Queen Elizabeth pub...
via a slender and muddy FOOTpath -
which leads to the Forest and is only a few minutes jog from our old HQ.

SCROLL DOWN for TRAVEL info and maps.

races will still START from - near our original clubhouse -
(ALLOW 10 MINUTES FROM THE CRICKET CLUB)

DIRECTIONS
FOR RUNNERS + WALKERS

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Chingford Cricket Clubhouse is about 5 minutes walk
from Chingford Rail and bus stations.
Both bus and rail stations are clearly marked on the
Streetmap.co.uk map!
Exit either terminus, into Station Road,
turn RIGHT (east) to follow Station Road round... about 150 metres
and turn right into Beresford Road.
(There's also a less obvious DIRECT exit onto Beresford Road from the bus /train terminii.
Turn right on Beresford Road, if this is used!)
Follow Beresford Road 150m slightly up then down, then turn left into Kimberley Road.

Kimberley Way is now 2nd LEFT turning, about 300 metres further.

The rough drive leading to the Cricket Club Ground
leads straight ahead where Kimberley Way veers right.
Whilst we await our move to Jubilee Retreat the committee has arranged in the interim for Orion
to use facilities at the Chingford Cricket Club, off Kimberley Way.
Our intention in securing these facilities was to maintain cohesion within the club,
keeping both the existing membership together as well as providing a single meeting
place for potential new members. In negotiating these arrangements we took into consideration
the fact that members run at different times, and we have taken care to ensure the facilities
are available to us at the times that most people run.

We've initially arranged to use these facilities until the end of March. We'd hoped to be in
Jubilee Retreat by April but this has been delayed due to planning issues. We may well find
ourselves in the position where we wish to use Chingford Cricket Club facilities beyond Spring -
using their facilities now may help enable this to happen.

Just so everyone is aware, the club is paying for the facilities to be available to
us at the following times

Tuesday 7.15 - 9pm - run leaves at 7.30pm
Wednesday 6.30 -9pm - runs leave at 7pm
Thursday 7.15 - 9pm - run leaves at 7.30pm
Saturday 2.45 -4.30pm - run leaves at 3.00pm
Sunday 8am - 12 midday – runs leave at:
8.30 am (Marathon training) and 9.30am (General)

Training sessions are open to all.

Once again we hope members will support us in keeping the club together at this time
and use the Cricket Club as the starting points for all runs.

Please don't attempt to use the CC for changing at other times.
A drawback - while there are 2 changing rooms, there's only 1 shower room.
The CC bar is open Thu, Fri and Sat evenings, as well as Sat and Sun afternoons which we are welcome to use.
DIRECTIONS
FOR DRIVERS

There is EXTREMELY LIMITED PARKING at the Cricket Club.

Nearby streets CAN be used but be aware of local restrictions, which are signed.
There are several Forest Car parks.
You ARE athletes -
the wee walk from the car park is a good warm-up!

A small car park is opposite the Hunting Lodge on Rangers Road and
another GIANT car park is on Bury Road -
marked on the Streetmap.co.uk map!
(Station Road/Rangers Road is the A1069 and leads east
from Chingford Station to Epping New Road, the A104.
The A104 goes north to Epping,
passing near to Junction 26 of the M25)

Races START not too far away from the suggested Forest Car Parks.
